7.2 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Bohol and Cebu: October 15, 2013


A 7.2 Magnitude earthquake hit the islands of Bohol and Cebu earlier today, October 15, 2013.

The epicenter was the town of Carmen in Bohol but the quake reaches other provinces and islands like Cebu and Siquijor. This town is  is the home of the world famous Chocolate Hills of Bohol.

There are still no final report on casualties and property damages but pictures has been sent to different news agencies showing the vast damage caused by this natural disaster.

Pictures below were take from the net showing massive damages to century old churches like the famous Sto Nino Cathedral in Cebu City and the Loboc Church in Bohol.

Aftershocks are still felt even minutes after the first quake.

No Tsunami warnings were raised in Cebu.

Power outages or brownouts were experienced in various towns in both provinces.

Let us all pray for all the safety of all our brothers and sisters in the affected areas.

Due to this natural disaster, flights to and from Cebu and Tagbilaran has been cancelled by Cebu Pacific Air and Philippine Airlines. We will keep you posted as soon as flight schedule are back to normal.
