- Mactan Shrine and the Lapu-lapu Monument
The Mactan Shrine is the place where the great Battle of Mactan was held. It is the spot where Datu Lapu-lapu became the first Filipino hero when he defeated the Spanish forces led by Ferdinand Magellan. Now the place is a famous park where you can see a tall bronze statue of Lapu-lapu. - Taboan Market
Go to Taboan Market to buy the cheapest but the best Danggit, Dried Pusit and other dried fish products. You can also buy dried mango, otap and Cebu Chorizo in Taboan at affordable prices.

- Magellan’s Cross and the Basilica Minore del Sto Nino
The Magellan’s Cross is just a stone throw away from the Cebu City Hall and the Basilica Minore del Sto Nino. A portion of the original cross brought by Magellan from Spain is said to be encased inside the Magellan’s Cross. The Basilica Minore del Sto Nino on the other hand is he home of Sto Nino de Cebu, the Patron of the whole province. The Sinulog festival is held every January in honor of the Sto Nino. Visiting these two tourist spots is a must for every Cebu first timers.
- Osmena Peak
Osmena Peak or “Opeak” to bloggers and mountaineers is Cebu’s highest peak. You can get there by riding a bus to the southern town of Dalaguete and riding a “habal-habal’. The bus ride can ake about 2 hours and the habal habal ride is approx. 20 minutes. The trek uphill is relatively easy and the view from above is stunning, plus the weather is much colder.
- Camotes Island
If your are tired of crowded beaches, then you should try some of Cebu’s hidden white sand beaches in Camotes Island. The most popular beach resort in Camotes is called Mangodlong Rock Resort. Santiago Bay is also one of the best beaches in Cebu with a long stretch of powdery white sand beach. A lot of caves are also waiting to be explored here in Camotes Island.

- Oslob Whale Shark Watching
Another popular must see tourist attraction in the province of Cebu is whale watching in the town of Oslob. You can swim with these gentle giants with the help of local fishermen and town officials.
- Larsian BBQ in Fuente Osmena
If your hungry and want to eat great tasting food, you should head out to Larsian BBQ near Fuente Osmena. Larsian BBQ is a place where you can buy pork BBQ and a lot of grilled seafood at affordable prices. Just remember that rice here at Larsian and in other Cebu restaurants are served in the form of PUSO, Cebu’s hanging rice, or rice wrapped in coconut leave.

- Taoist Temple
The Taoist Temple in Cebu is also a popular tourist attraction for first time tourists and foreigners. The temple is composed of beautiful Chinesse architecture and some statues of mythical creatures. The Taoist temple is also situated on top of a hill, giving you a great view of the city below.
- Fort San Pedro
For those on a Cebu fieldtrip, a must stop spot for you is the Fort San Pedro. The fort was made using the paln of Miguel Lopez de Legaspi and the structure was used as a settlement for the Spaniards during their time.
- Yap Sandiego Ancestral House
One of the most famous Cebu landmarks is the Yap Sandiego Ancestral house. It is probably one of the oldest houses in the area. Inside, you can find a lot of antique furniture and images of the Sto Nino. The Yap Sandiago Ancestral House is also near Colon Street and the Heritage of Cebu Monument.
